When Sin Goes Unconfronted
In 2 Samuel 13:23–39, we see the devastating consequences of sin left unaddressed. After David refuses to confront Amnon’s sin, justice is delayed—and that delay creates space for vengeance, violence, and chaos. What David will not judge, Absalom decides to avenge, and the result is not restoration but exile, grief, and a fractured household.
This passage teaches a sobering truth: when God-given authority refuses to confront sin, sin does not go away—it multiplies. Yet even in this dark chapter, Scripture presses us beyond failed human leadership to look for a better King. Jesus does not delay righteousness or excuse evil. He confronts sin, bears judgment, protects the vulnerable, and brings true restoration.
This sermon calls us to confront sin honestly, repent quickly, and trust the righteous King who has already borne judgment for His people.
