Crowned with Glory

Apr 20, 2025    Matt Schiesser

Easter isn’t just the story of an empty tomb—it’s the declaration of a risen King. In a world obsessed with self-promotion and platform-building, the resurrection of Jesus shows us a better way. Christ didn’t rise by exalting Himself. He descended in humility, obeyed to the point of death, and was exalted by the Father.

This sermon explores how the resurrection:

Shatters our pride

Crowns Jesus with supreme authority

Creates a new people shaped by His humility and glory

The resurrection is not just proof that Jesus is alive—it’s a summons to bow the knee, abandon self-made glory, and follow the risen King who raises the dead. Because Jesus reigns, we don’t have to chase significance—we already have it in Him.
