The Unity of the Law

In this third message in our Law & Gospel series, we explore Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:17–20. Christ did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it—not just by obeying it perfectly, but by showing its truest intent. The Law is not merely a list of rules—it is a unified whole with love at its core. Jesus teaches that every command, even the ones that seem strange to us, is ultimately about loving God and neighbor. This sermon helps us see the Law as a gift, not a burden; as a guide, not a threat; and as an expression of God’s love, meant to shape our lives into Christlikeness.
