The Fourth Word
Jun 30, 2024 • Matt Schiesser
The fourth commandment is not a burden—it’s a blessing. In this sermon, we examine God’s command to “remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.” Far from being obsolete, this command reveals a rhythm for life: six days of work, one day of worshipful rest. Rooted in the creation pattern and fulfilled in Christ, the Sabbath shows us what it means to stop, gather, and be transformed in the presence of God. The resurrection shifted our worship to Sunday, the Lord’s Day, where we now meet with God and are made more like Him. This weekly rhythm is the engine of spiritual renewal for the people of God.
