Fullness of Joy

In this sermon from Psalm 16, Pastor Matt Schiesser begins the series Psalms for Gladness in God by showing that true joy is not found in comfort, control, entertainment, success, or escape, but in the Lord Himself.

Psalm 16 is first the song of Christ. Jesus trusted His Father, received the Father’s will, went to the grave with hope, and entered fullness of joy at the Father’s right hand. Because Christ has walked the path of life, all who belong to Him are brought into His joy.

This sermon calls us to run to the right refuge, stop feeding what multiplies sorrow, receive our actual lives from the Father’s hand, set the Lord before us, and come to Christ, where there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore.
