The Secret to True Joy

In this sermon from Psalm 32, Pastor Matt Schiesser continues the series Psalms for Gladness in God by showing that true joy is found when sinners stop hiding from God and start hiding in God.

David teaches us that the blessed person is not the one who has never sinned, but the one whose sin is forgiven, covered, and not counted against him. Hidden sin crushes the soul, but confessed sin is covered by the mercy of God.

Psalm 32 moves from silence to singing, from guilt to gladness, and from hiding to honesty. Because of Christ, sinners no longer need to cover what only God can cover. In Him, mercy surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
